ALL JUNIOR TEAMS MUST HAVE A MANAGER IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION, BUT DUTIES SUCH AS SCORING CAN BE SHARED BETWEEN PARENTS.

MANAGER'S ROLE

The manager is the person responsible for communication between coach, club and players. The manager is also responsible for arranging a scorer and ensuring the score card is completed correctly - you can share the Scorer role with other parents/team members but please make sure the score card is correct. You can also assist the coach with managing the equipment, balls, position patches/bibs, First Aid etc - work with the coach to see what they need.

SCORE CARDS

  • Picks up the score card from the centre of the court prior to the commencement of the game WHERE YOUR TEAM IS LISTED 1ST ON THE FIXTURE
  • NetSetGoYou will need to write the names of the players on the score card. For 8 Years you do not record the goals. For 9s Years, record the goals (it will be useful for future grading) but there is no competition ladder created.
  • Juniors and Seniors -
    • The names of the players are now printed on the scorecard. *If a player’s name is NOT printed on the score card simply write the name on the score card, there may just be a system issue or a registration adjustment needed.
    • Week 1, everyone signs the score card and this becomes the template/baseline for the signatures for the remainder of the season. So RNA suggests team Managers take a photo of the scorecard so you remember how each person signs their name.
    • Please remember junior players should write their name in full and seniors will need to sign.
    • The signature should be the same every week, points will be taken from the team if there are inconsistencies
  • Ensures the scorecard is signed by all the players - if you borrow a player from a lower division or age, they must sign and note which team they are from NOTE PLAYERS CAN NOW PLAY 2 MATCHES PER DAY *SEE CONDITIONS BELOW
  • Ensures the UMPIRE and CAPTAIN and SCORER all sign the scorecard
  • Returns the scorecard to the building if our team wins. If the opposing team wins the scorecard is returned by the opposing team manager.
  • When the players sign the scorecard ask them to always sign using the same signature and no symbols with their signature (e.g. hearts, stars, smiley faces) as this may result in lost points.
  • YOU SCORE STANDING WITH THE MANAGER OF THE OTHER TEAM – MID WAY ON SIDELINE. WHATEVER IS RECORDED ON THE SCORE CARD IS THE OFFICIAL SCORE SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK AND CONFIRM WITH THE OTHER SCORER AS GOALS ARE SCORED.

The manager organises;

  • A scorer each week. The scorer must stand on the sideline, midcourt with the scorer of the opposing team. This also can be rostered.
  • Occasionally during the season, the RRNC will send info to managers regarding uniforms, club events, wet weather games etc. The manager ensures this info is relayed to players and parents.
  • A rotating roster which is sent to players’ families for oranges and treats if your team is organising this.
  • Social or Fund Raising activities as requested by our club

The manager communicates with the coach regarding team training times and location, will email/text team in wet weather to communicate if games are schedules or postponed.

SCORE CARD SIGNATURES FOR JUNIOR TEAMS

SCORE CARD SIGNATURES FOR JUNIOR TEAMS

All junior players must sign their full name as per the example below. Errors or omissions on score cards will lead to your team losing 1 point so please check before you hand in the score card.

SENIORS & INTERMEDIATES SIGNATURES

All senior and Intermediate players must sign a Signature Card the 1st Round that they play. The first week the card will come with the score card, after that players must go to the Control Building and complete the card. We suggest you keep a photo of the card so you have a record of how everyone has signed to maintain consistency through the season and not lose points.

BORROWING PLAYERS - PLAYING IN HIGHER GRADED TEAM

PLEASE CHECK WITH THE SENIOR OR JUNIOR CONVENOR AND OTHER COACHES BEFORE YOU BORROW PLAYERS.

Teams must have 5 or more players to start the game. To avoid forfeiting your team may borrow players from a lower team and that player must sign your score card and note which team they are from and how many games they have played that day (maximum of 2 games per day).

Players can play up higher 4 times and stay in their usual team. If they play up a 5TH time they cannot return to their own team and must stay at the lowest of the higher divisions they have played in e.g. a 14 Div 2 player played up 4 times in 15 Div 2 and 1 time in 15 Div 3 she would have to stay in at least the 15 Div 3 team. So remember 5 times up and you're out of your usual team.

You can only borrow a player from a younger or lower division. If you have 7 players available for your team you can only borrow someone that has NOT played that day eg had a bye.

PLAYING TWICE IN ONE DAY

PLAYING TWICE IN ONE DAY RULE

If you have 6 or less players you may borrow a player that is playing in her own team as well that day - she plays 2 games and games are counted towards eligibility to play the semis (players must play 3 round games to be able to play in the semis).

Any borrowed player must be noted on your score and what team they are from and if playing a 2nd game this must be noted.

Players cannot play 2 games during the semis.
