CHANGES FOR 2024
- We are not having Phase 1 and 2. Registrations are open to existing members and families & new NetSetGo and new Seniors
- Junior age groups have automatic maximum limits set on PlayHQ. Once the maximum is filled we will review as needed. Please register as soon as possible to ensure your spot.
- Any new Juniors and Intermediate players that want to join need to email our club (SEE REGISTRAR CONTACTS BELOW), be placed on a wait list and approved to register when there is a vacancy. The final number of players we can take will totally depend on our volunteer numbers, especially coaches. Please note we are usually at capacity in the Junior age groups. If you are offering and able to coach (any team, not just your daughter) we are able to give your registration request priority.
- Non-players registration is now free of charge. Non Player registration is for coaches, umpires, managers and other volunteers and officials that are not playing. It provides insurance coverage and access to online courses and accreditation opportunities. We encourage all non-playing volunteers to register in 2024 and we thank you for assisting in a non player role at our club, it's much appreciated!
- Grading Policy changes - see "GRADING REQUESTS TO PLAY WITH FRIENDS" tab below or our website Grading page: http://randwickrugbynetball.com.au/index.php/en/grading

NETSETGO: As NetSetGo 8s and 9s is not competitive we can easily group players together. We are an inclusive club and do not like to turn players away so we reserve the right to add players to a group in order to even out team numbers. All players must make the request when registering and parents cannot make requests on behalf of others. JUNIORS: Please note that netball is a graded, competitive sport from the age of 10 with multiple divisions in age groups and representative pathways. We grade players based on ability in order to maximise opportunities for players to develop and improve their skills as well as their enjoyment and love of the game. It works much better for everyone. We have an equal court time policy at our club so friendship teams with a wide range of abilities are a real challenge to coach and difficult to provide a positive, confidence building experience to all players. Stronger players always enjoy the challenge of harder, faster competition and do not develop to their potential if graded lower to be kept with a friend. Less confident players do not always enjoy playing above their skill or experience level. 10 to 12 Years - change to Grading Policy from 2024 From 2024, for all 10 years to 12 years teams, we are moving back to our earlier Grading Policy of selecting teams based on playing ability and team balance. We have encountered too many issues trying to accommodate “friend group requests” in the 10s and 11s and later on forming teams in 12s when those friend or school group teams didn’t work. Practical grading (ie attendance at trial games where players are observed and assessed as individuals by RRNC Grading Committee selectors) is now compulsory for these ages. This is the fairest way to compare players so the RRNC Grading Committee can form balanced teams based on rankings with players of a similar standard so they can enjoy their netball, and develop to their potential. We encourage our players to accept their team and welcome making new friendships. The support of parents is greatly encouraged for this to occur smoothly. If you have players within these age groups that do not want to be graded (eg you want to form your own team) we suggest that you inquire at smaller clubs that may be able to accommodate your request. Or it is easy to form your own club with Randwick Netball Association - we can advise you how if interested, for more information please contact Mary O'Connell E] 13 to 15 Years We will consider “friend requests” from 13 years up for Division 3 and lower teams. You will be advised if required to attend grading. Division 1 & 2 team players must attend compulsory grading. Any player from Division 3 or lower looking to change teams can also attend grading. INTERMEDIATES AND SENIORS With Intermediates and Seniors make sure you list the friends you want to play with when you register. You will be advised if required to attend grading. Division 1 & 2 or A Grade team players must attend compulsory grading. Any player from lower divisions looking to change teams can also attend grading. All members must register using the PlayHQ online registration system which records your personal details and is a secure payment method. 1. Click on the link to the appropriate competition registration form on the PlayHQ site 2. Make sure you keep a record of your password and which email used to set up the account. * This email address will be used for all future communications. 3. Payments can only be made via the PlayHQ registration portal online payment system. We do not accept Offline payments. 4. ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHER - If you have a Creative/Active kids voucher from 2023 you are still able to redeem it up until 31st January. After 31st January you can apply for a 2024 Creative/Active voucher. After Registrations close we commence grading and sorting everyone into teams. NetSetGo is non-competitive and teams are sorted based on numbers, not graded. All Juniors to Senior players are placed into teams based on ability/skills or friendship requests. To see our Grading Policy and more details please click here to go to our GRADING INFORMATION page. Note: Age group is the age turning in 2024; example: 10 years = born in 2014 After the last grading day, the Grading Committee meet and finalise all team lists. Our team lists will be posted on our website by TBA 2024. We register all teams with Randwick Netball Association and then the RNA Grading Committee place all teams into the various competition divisions and set the fixtures for 2024. If you have missed the close off date you should email the appropriate registrar who will be able to advise if there are any vacancies or possibly place you on a wait list.
